Camp task - Before camp and After camp!

Camp task - Before camp and After camp!

Before I went to camp I wasn't very confident about going and doing all the activities there.
I was very nervous about attempting camp raglan and how I was sad leaving some of my family members and some friends here in Auckland.

After camp, I was very confident to be involved in many things and confident to do things on my own. I kept trying my best to show team and a good growth mindset, After I have showed these key points of mine I think that I have achieved more.

Same, I have been the same at helping hand, Teamwork, Encouraging and Excited ... This is what I haven't changed in myself.

Tongan Poem!

Poem!

My tongan pride, I will not to hide,
We stand by each other as family, till we the day we die.

Traditional clothing is what we wear,
To honour the tongans with no fear.

A ta’ovala is what we wear, To funerals and birthdays,
Remember if you have one you don’t wear it always.

The Tongan flag, stands higher than the rest,
cause everyone knows tongans are truly the best.

Tongan blood flowing hot and true,
So step aside and let all the tongans through.

Sadly everyone dies, but if you're a tongan
You die with the Tongan pride.

In the Tongan culture Otai is a traditional drink,
Just drink and don’t think!

Questions:

What are you proud of about your culture?
I am proud that i'm from tonga, I'm proud to eat the tradition food and to show how special our culture is.

What makes your culture special?
The tradition things such as food and clothings are special to me because it is our own tradition things and our culture is just so special.

Why is it important to embrace your culture?
It is very important to embrace the tongan culture to show who you really are and to let people know what culture you're from.

This is a poem that I worked on with my buddy Losana, We both come from the tongan culture and we both know tradition things such as tradition food, Tradition clothes and many more.

I am worthy to be celebrated so I know what people like about me, Know what I need to work on and no. Because I need to know what people think of me and why.

Science of food treats!

Science of food treats!

Today for our Tuesday afternoon, We had room 6 in our class for the rest of the day. My two buddies were Maryjane and Hope.T. We read a book called 'Science of food treats.

In this book a food manufacturer opens their doors to reveal some of the secrets behind making these popular and yummy treats. You'll also learn the difference between natural and processed sugars, and how we can eat foods that satisfy our sweet tooth, but are healthy at the same time.

Food treats - We should always eat healthy foods, but sometimes we deserve a treat!

Hundreds and thousands science - Have you ever wondered how those tiny coloured balls are made?

Whipped cream science - Whipping cream for dessert is not only fun, it's science, too!

Science of dessert jelly - Dessert jellies are wobbly, delicious and the product of clever thinking.

Science of soft drinks - It's not the tiny bubbles of carbon dioxide in soft drinks you have to watch out for!

Good sugar or bad sugar? -  There are plenty of healthy foods that can give us all thee "good" sugar we need.

Crispy, chocolate chip cookie science - Make a delicious choc - nut chip cookie recipe. The best part of this scientific procedure is being able to eat the results.

Creative food chemistry - Some creative chefs combine their cooking and scientific skills to make fabulous fine food.

Questions:

Everyone has a favourite food treat,
But what's the science being making them?

How does jelly set?

How does whipped cream stay so fluffy?

And how are tiny hundreds and thousands created?

My opinion on this book is..

That this was a book based on sugar, and children sweet treats. This book caught myself and my buddies attention based on the yummy photo's that were shown while reading this book.

Here is a photo of my buddies.

Bloom's Taxonomy!

WALT: use Bloom’s Taxonomy to critically summarize a current event.
SC: I can;
- identify key words in a news article.
- use critical thinking skills to analyse a current event.
This is my current events, based on an article that was mainly about a 6 year old pageant queen, which meant she had won the beauty pageant. She was sadly killed on christmas 1996, in her own home. 20 years of researching and investigating, but still no killer found, only evidence. The evidence that they found was a lot but not enough to lock someone up!

In the presentation, provided for the specific audience to view.. there are questions based, and about Guy Fawkes being arrested, and also just facts about himself, and his past! Have you ever, thought about why the celebration of Guy Fawkes, or Fireworks, are important? Well if you would like to read about this.
